Now, I've been ACE (American Council on Exercise) Certified in
Lifestyles and Weight Management, and I'm an AFAA Certified Personal
Trainer. I know what I'm talking about when it comes to what works
for most people and what fails for most people when it comes to
fitness and weight control. The reason a Personal Trainer or a
Live-in Weight Control Center works for many people is very simple:
You are being personally COACHED (monitored, motivated, encouraged,
and guided) by experts in nutrition, exercise, and (with the most
effective trainers) behavior modification.

Succeeding in weight-loss is actually simple once you understand a few
key scientific facts about your body, your mind, and the 80/20
principle.
First, let me tell you a simple fact about YOUR BODY:
There's nothing wrong with it!
God may have given you a thin body or a thick one, a tall one or a
short one - it doesn't matter. All body types are beautiful. But all
types of bodies can start carrying too much weight and get out of
shape - and then you don't feel beautiful or handsome, you don't like
the way you look, and you sure don't feel as healthy and energetic as

Well here's some good news: Just as any type of body can gain weight
and get out of shape, any type of body can shed that weight and become
fit again!
Before going any further, I urge you not to make excuses for yourself
about slow metabolism, or unbalanced hormones, or the wrong genetics -
these are merely small bumps in the road, not road blocks. It's true
that some people's bodies gain weight more easily than others. But
when you blame body characteristics for your weight gain, YOU GIVE UP
CONTROL OF YOUR BODY. When you accept and TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR BODY,
then you're ready to coast right over the bumps in the road and lose
the extra weight easily regardless of your body characteristics.
So that there is no confusion, you can successfully get fit and lose
your excess weight regardless of your genetics, hormones, metabolism
or body type. Sure, there may be one in 10,000 who do have a medical
condition that precludes easy weight loss - but accept the fact that
you're with the other 9,999 unless a licensed medical doctor has
proven to you otherwise.
Now let me tell you a simple fact about YOUR MIND:
It can be your own worst enemy if you don't understand it and learn
how to monitor and use it correctly.
My martial arts instructor, Master Eric Sbarge, taught me over ten
years ago how Chinese Zen masters refer to our mind: They call it The
Wild Monkey Mind. Like a wild monkey running all over the place, our
minds run all over the place with this thought and that thought; we
try this and then just as suddenly we try that; we give in to this
impulse and then we give in to that impulse.

not good: For some people, under the right circumstances, they're
great. And I've certainly kept some elements of them in my Boot Camp.
But what I've observed in my many years of Fitness Training is that
those traditional programs just don't work for most overweight and
out-of-shape people. The reason is simple: Most overweight and
out-of-shape people who try those traditional programs quit right
away.
Let's take you, for example. You're most likely not all that
interested in perfecting your Clean-and Jerk technique in the weight
room, or earning a Black Belt, or putting your leg behind your head
like a pretzel in a yoga class. Right now you want one thing and one
thing only: To lose weight and get in great shape. If I put you in a
demanding traditional exercise program at best you'll likely feel
bored, unmotivated and disinterested at best - and at worst you'll
feel frustrated, out-of-place, self-conscious, discouraged, in over
your head, and downright miserable. With those kinds of feelings, of
course you'd want to quit right away.
You won't want to quit with my exciting and empowering new blend of
ever-changing and always-entertaining Boot Camp routines...

I'm not going to tell you every crazy exercise you'll do during my
Boot Camp workouts because that would spoil the surprise and take away

- Chasing your training partners through wooded trails with water
balloons and Super Soaker water guns
- Losing weight just by laughing so hard as you and your partner do
wheel barrow races with REAL WHEELBARROWS
- Hopping around the training room like a frog as you chase after a
giant fly (you'll see how the notion of "good food" isn't so absolute
- and you can't believe how toned this drill will make your legs)
- Shoveling gravel or hauling tree branches up a hill (We need to keep
the grounds nice and you've got to earn your keep somehow. By the
way, is it correct to say "hauling tree branches up a hill" when
you'll actually be jogging up the hill with those branches?)
- Only allowed to drink from your water bottle while using a Crazy
Straw with the bottle on the floor and you in a push-up position.
Anyway, you get the idea. We'll also do some fun fitness kickboxing,
some stretching and yoga, punch some heavy bags, a little aerobics -
but it will be more fun than any exercise you've done since you were a
kid - and maybe more fun than any exercise you've ever done, period.
And you'll be burning lots of calories and getting thinner and in
better shape with every workout - I can promise you that!!!
